Surface Power's intellectual property program is now 10 years old in DTES thermal and STEG (Solar Thermal Electricity Generation). Our intellectual property covers many different areas of the technology. Surface Power uses a completely different approach to generating energy from this daylight source. The existing method has been to use differential temperature controllers to perform simple pump ON/pump OFF actions (batch heating) in sunshine. This is because the existing science is so inefficient at creating heat; and the standard solar hot water systems you can buy today still use the same science in place since the 1950's. (imagine if we still drove brand new Morris Minors, even a MK1 Ford Cortina didn't launch until 1962) In contrast to that low energy approach, SP have developed the worlds first DTES thermal technology. This replaces the old style solar hot water and this science is built in to all our systems. It allows our systems to operate in "Boiler" mode delivering very high temperatures even in small domestic systems. By using advanced semiconductor engineering, we are able to deliver the highest output system performance in the industry today and it's all invisible engineering (semiconductor), it doesn't change the way the systems are installed, but the results are spectacular. We believe ALL OUR HEATING, COOLING & ELECTRICITY can be created FREE from "daylight" NOT "sunlight". Examples of our areas of IP in DTES & STEG: |
