BBC News: Rain, accompanied by a strong to gale force westerly wind, is expected to be heavy and persistent today across western and southern parts. The public should be aware of large amounts of surface spray on roads and some areas of minor flooding.
Devon News: Weather warning issued as 70mph winds batter Devon
BBC News: Some exposed coastal areas may see gusts in excess of 70 mph. Spells of heavy rain are also forecast. Such strong winds, in combination with the heavy rain, will make for difficult and dangerous travelling conditions.
RTE News: Persistent and locally heavy or thundery rain will continue this afternoon over much of Connacht, South Ulster and Leinster, though the rain will gradually ease off in South Connacht and Southwest Leinster later this evening, Weather Warning in effect, Gale Warning in effect, Small Craft Warning in effect.
